Engnitzthal

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Engnitzthal was a short-lived community in the Sonneberg district in Thuringia .

The municipality of Engnitzthal was created on April 9, 1994 (legal date of effect) with the merger of the municipalities of Spechtsbrunn , Hüttengrund , Hasenthal and Eschenthal . On January 1, 1997, it merged with the neighboring municipality of Haselbach to form the municipality of Oberland am Rennsteig . Oberland am Rennsteig was again incorporated into Sonneberg on January 1, 2014 . The name of the municipality was borne by the Engnitz brook, which arises about two kilometers north of Blechhammer from the confluence of the Oelse brooks (coming from Hasenthal) and Rögitz and flows into the Steinach in Blechhammer .
