Enshi (city)

The city of Enshi (恩施 市, Ēnshī Shì ) is an independent city in the southwest of the Chinese province of Hubei . It belongs to the administrative area of the Enshi Autonomous District of Tujia and Miao . The city of Enshi has an area of 3,972 km² and approx. 770,000 inhabitants. It is the capital of the autonomous district of the same name.
At the time of the Warring States in the 5th to 3rd centuries BC, Yíchéng (夷 城) was the capital of the Ba State here .
