Epeius (son of Endymion)

Epeios ( Greek  Ἐπειός ) is in Greek mythology the son of Endymion , king of Elis .

Pausanias tells of a race his father is organizing to determine his successor. Epeios defeats his two brothers Paion and Aitolus and becomes king of Elis. He then marries Anaxiroe , the daughter of Koronos and with her has the daughter Hyrmine . After his death, Aitolus became his successor.

His subjects were named Epeier after him and only later after his nephew Eleios Eleier .
