Epi Info is statistical software for epidemiology . It is in the public domain and comes from the United States' Centers for Disease Control and Prevention .

With Epi Info, surveys can be created and data edited, analyzed and visualized. The functions are based on the needs of public health , especially epidemiology. Supported methods are measures of descriptive statistics , risk indicators , t-tests , analysis of variance , linear regression , logistic regression and event time analysis . Results can be presented with the help of geographic maps. For samples, there are the options of the stratified random sample , the cluster sample, the multi-level sample, and samples with unequal probabilities of inclusion .

There are connections to web browsers , Visual Basic Classic and databases based on MySQL and ODBC as well as Microsoft Access . Version 7 was released in November 2008, which is the first open source version of Epi Info.
