The Cassette Vision ( Japanese : カ セ ッ ト ビ ジ ョ ン, Hepburn : Kasetto Bijon) is a stationary game console of the second generation , which was released on July 30, 1981 by the Japanese console manufacturer Epoch-sha exclusively in Japan at a price of 13,500 yen . A total of eleven games were published. A hardware revision appeared later that year with the Cassette Vision Jr. The production of the system was stopped in 1984 with the appearance of the successor console Super Cassette Vision . The Epoch Cassette Vision was sold a total of around 400,000 times and thus dominated around 70% of the entire Japanese game console market.
