The earthquake in southwest Pakistan in 2011 occurred in the province of Balochistan near the border with Afghanistan on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 1:23 p.m. Pakistan Time (Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 9:23 p.m. CET ).

Effect of the quake

According to initial reports, the earthquake in Pakistan did not have any serious consequences. The U.S. Geological Institute reported that the quake had a magnitude of 7.2. The quake could be felt as far as New Delhi , reported the TV broadcaster CNN . According to the institute, the epicenter of the quake was at a depth of 84 kilometers. The Pakistani media reported that two women died of heart attacks . The Pakistani Disaster Management Agency announced that 200 adobe houses in Dalbandin were destroyed.
