Eric Harding

Eric Harding (born December 20, 1972 in Philadelphia ) is an American boxer .

South African Harding started boxing when he was 13, with a 78-6 record. He won several local tournaments in Pennsylvania.

He turned pro in 1991 and did not box for three and a half years after his first two fights. He has been in prison several times and has two gunshot wounds and three stab wounds. In 1997 he inflicted his first loss on Kabary Saleem, in 1998 he beat Montell Griffin , but was down. In 2000 he also defeated the undefeated amateur world champion Antonio Tarver .

That brought him a world championship fight with Roy Jones in which he had no chance and lost in the 10th round.

It was his only title fight. In 2001 he defeated the undefeated George Jones, in a rematch with Tarver in 2002 he was hard knocked out. In 2003 he lost to Glen Johnson , after victories over David Telesco and the unbeaten Dan Judah he lost to the undefeated Chad Dawson on points.
