Eric Werner (* 1985 ) in Halle an der Saale is a German chef .

Career

After completing his training, Werner went to the Sao Gabriel restaurant in Portugal . From 2008 to 2009 he cooked for Berthold Bühler in the Résidence in Essen . From 2009 to 2010 he was sous chef at Heiko Antoniewicz . Afterwards Werner was Sous Chef of Clara von Krüger at the Spatzenhof in Wermelskirchen (one Michelin star ) until the end of 2011 . At the beginning of 2012 he became head chef at the Résidence in Essen (two Michelin stars), until the end of 2014 together with Erik Arnecke. From the beginning of 2015, Eric Werner was the sole head chef in the residence .

At the beginning of 2017, after the Résidence closed, he became head chef in the Himmel un Äd restaurant in the Hotel im Wasserturm in Cologne. In May 2018 the Himmel un Äd was also closed.

In August 2019 he opened the restaurant astrein in Cologne's Neustadt-Nord . In March 2020, was knotless less than a year after opening with a star of the Guide Michelin awarded.
