Erich Arndt (cyclist)

Erich Arndt (born August 26, 1911 in Krefeld ; † unknown) was a German track cyclist .

Career

Erich Arndt was a plumber by profession, started cycling at the age of 19 and joined the RV Staubwolke Krefeld . Because of his achievements, he became a member of the German national team. In 1936 he started in the team pursuit at the Olympic Games in Berlin , together with Heinz Hasselberg , Heinz Hoffmann and Karl Klöckner . In the race for the bronze medal, the German four-man lost to the quartet from Great Britain, also because Arndt had to tear off one lap before the finish, and finished fourth.
