Erich Goldberg

Erich Goldberg (born November 7, 1888 in Annaberg ; † after 1919) was a German poet, composer and portrait artist who wrote and composed in the Ore Mountains dialect .

Erich Goldberg attended elementary school, secondary school and commercial school in Annaberg. From 1908 to 1914 he trained as a draftsman in the trimmings industry. From 1915 to 1918 he took part in the First World War. After returning from the war, he returned to the trimmings industry as a specialist.

In his free time he wrote and composed Erzgebirge music, the famous lullaby . Some of his stories, poems and songs appeared in the daily press.

Goldberg married Erna Haase from Annaberg in 1920. They lived together at Münzgasse 14 in Annaberg.
