Erich Hänzi (born April 27, 1965 ) is a former Swiss football player . His traditional position was defense .
Career
After his youth at FC Lengnau , Hänzi moved to Bern's top club BSC Young Boys in 1986 . In 1987 he won the Swiss Cup in the final against Servette Geneva with the Bernese Capital Club . In the next few years there were no further titles, in 1992/93 he was second in the Swiss championship with YB. In the Young Boys he was one of the few players who remained loyal to the club for years. In 1993 he still moved to FC Lausanne-Sport . In 1998 and 1999 he won the Cup twice with Lausanne. In 2000 he returned to the Young Boys and was used regularly. After the 2002/03 season he ended his career and from 2008 became assistant coach of FC Zurich .
