Erich Mauss

Erich Mauss (born July 29, 1926 - † October 23, 2013 ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and wine maker. Mauss was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1966 to 1970 .

After completing compulsory school, Mauss graduated from the wine and fruit growing school in Krems an der Donau and served in World War II from 1943. He fell into American captivity and returned from the war in 1945. In addition to his work as a winegrower in Walkersdorf am Kamp , Mauss held the office of mayor between 1965 and 1990. He was also the chairman of the district farmer's council from 1969 and held various functions in agricultural cooperatives and associations. In addition, he was Vice President of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Agriculture from 1970 to 1986 , President of the Federal Viticulture Association from 1970 to 1985 and Chairman of the Wine Management Fund between 1972 and 1986. Mauss represented the ÖVP between January 20, 1966 and May 4, 1970 in the Lower Austrian state parliament.
