Erik Buell Racing (EBR) is an American manufacturer of road and racing motorcycles with headquarters in East Troy , Wisconsin . Erik Buell founded the company after his former company Buell was dissolved by the parent company Harley-Davidson in 2009.

Initially, only the production of thoroughbred racing machines, which should be based on the Buell 1125R, was planned. On July 1, 2013, Hero MotoCorp , an Indian motorcycle manufacturer, bought 49.2% of the shares for approximately $ 25 million. With the investor's entry in mid-2013, series production of sporty road motorcycles began in 2014. In April 2015, Erik Buell Racing filed for bankruptcy protection on a debt of $ 20 million. 126 jobs were lost.

In a press release dated April 29, 2016, the company announced that it had implemented the restructuring and ended the bankruptcy protection. The new owner is Liquid Asset Partners of Grand Rapids Michigan, specializing in bankruptcy processing that EWCs aim to make profitable again within five years. After securing the supply of spare parts, the further development of the series motorcycles is carried out.

The collaboration Northern Classic, Custom & Race AB from Delsbo (Sweden) was announced on May 27, 2016 to ensure the supply of spare parts for Europe. Production of the 2016 version of the 1190SX and 1190RX has been running since mid-March 2016. Bill Melvin is named as the owner and CFO of EBR Motorcycles.
