The commemorative badge flood Saxony-Anhalt 1994 was donated by the Prime Minister of Saxony-Anhalt on July 21, 1994 on the occasion of the flooding of the Saale and its tributaries . The mark was awarded to the participating fire brigades , members of the police , the THW , the Federal Armed Forces and other organizations that fought the flood and its consequences in 1994 in the affected districts of the state of Saxony-Anhalt.

The commemorative badge is designed as a multi-colored pin that depicts the state's coat of arms and stylized waves and the words "Flood 1994" . The strap buckle is made of a blue ribbon with a silver-colored commemorative mark on it with the same image as the pin.
