Chris Messina
Chris Messina (born August 11, 1974 in New York City ) is an American film and television actor .
Life and career
Messina began his career as a Broadway actor. He has starred in episodes on the Law & Order , Third Watch and Medium TV series . He had a recurring role on the fifth and final season of the HBO series Six Feet Under , playing Claire's (Lauren Ambrose) love interest Ted Fairwell.
His film credits include Rounders , state of emergency , em @ il for you and nothing is private . Chris played Ira in Ira and Abby , a film directed by Robert Cary and written by co-actress Jennifer Westfeldt . The film was released by Magnolia Pictures in August 2007 and won Best Comedy Award at the HBO Comedy Festival that year.
In 2008 Messina starred in the Woody Allen film Vicky Cristina Barcelona with Javier Bardem , Penélope Cruz , Scarlett Johansson and Rebecca Hall . His next film was Julie & Julia , where he starred alongside stars like Meryl Streep , Stanley Tucci and Amy Adams .
Messina is married to the film producer Jennifer Todd , with whom he has two sons.
