history

Neu Järshagen was originally a ducal farm that was divided into four fields around 1784. At the beginning of the 19th century, the village was laid out, with the majority of the houses built in half-timbered construction and covered with straw, reed or roofing felt. In 1864 there were already 324 residents here. Their number dropped to 278 by 1939.

Until 1945 Neu Järshagen was a municipality in the district of Järshagen (seat: Alt Järshagen) in the district of Schlawe i. Pom. in the administrative district of Köslin in the Prussian province of Pomerania . The registry office was also in Alt Järshagen, while the district court was in Rügenwalde .

Towards the end of the Second World War , Soviet troops occupied the place in early March 1945 . After the end of the war, Neu Järshagen was placed under Polish administration. Then the immigration of Polish civilians began, mainly from the areas of eastern Poland that were now part of the Soviet Union . New Järshagen was renamed Nowy Jarosław . The local German population was subsequently driven west by the Polish authorities .

Nowy Jarosław is now part of Gmina Darłowo in the Powiat Sławieński of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship . Around 200 people now live here.

Gorzebądz / Gohrbandshof

The formerly incorporated village of Gohrbandshof (Gorzebądz) borders the New Krakow Forest (Nowy Kraków) and emerged from a single isolated farm, which is now about 300 meters south of Nowy Jarosław. The old buildings were built in massive construction. The Bredow family had their property here as early as the 19th century . The last owner was Max Bredow .

church

Before 1945, Neu Järshagen belonged to the parish of Järshagen (parish seat was Alt Järshagen), with a predominantly Protestant population , to which the branch parish Kugelwitz (seat: Alt Kugelwitz, today in Polish: Chudaczewo) was parish. The parish, which belonged to the parish of Rügenwalde in the church province of Pomerania of the Church of the Old Prussian Union , had a total of 1590 parishioners in 1940. Old and New Järshagen were last co-managed by Pastor Johannes Heberlein from Grupenhagen (Krupy).

Since 1945, the place has been part of the parish (Polish: Parafia) Stary Jarosław ( Alt Järshagen ) with predominantly Catholic residents , to which the subsidiary churches Kowalewice ( Alt Kugelwitz ) and Krupy ( Grupenhagen ) are also incorporated. She belongs to the Deanery Darłowo in the Diocese of Köslin-Kolberg of the Catholic Church in Poland .
