Detection witness

A detection tools under German law a person who, for the identity of another person (without official photo ID). B. can confirm in notarial processes.

Since the determination of identity according to § 10 BeurkG is part of the notarization , the notary may have to convince himself of the identity of a person by means of a witness if an identity card or passport is missing . The statement that the notary knows the person involved is an alud for legitimation through ID cards and identification certificates.

As a rule, only those persons who the notary himself knows to be reliable or who are closely related to one of the parties are suitable as witnesses.
