The Jägerhof adventure park , also known as the Pfullendorf zoo , was a year-round zoo east of the Gaisweiler district of Pfullendorf . The facility is directly adjacent to the Seepark Linzgau and has between 15,000 and 20,000 visitors annually.

Adventure park

history

The Jägerhof adventure park was created in 2001 as part of the country's first green project "Nature in town and country" on the site that belonged to a quarry pond. Property owner Josef Jäger built a small zoo with a restaurant. Ernst Haller took over the animal population in 2005 and, as a tenant, placed particular emphasis on the conservation of endangered domestic animal species and races. On October 1, 2010, Bärbel Rollbühler took over the “Jägerhof” zoo. The zoo was then renovated and redesigned.

As part of extensions, a dog school, a tree nature trail and a barefoot path were created in 2012, and in 2013 a western area with saloon , tipis and a sheriff's office. The area was expanded further in 2015.

The animals had open stalls or shelters on every pasture. It was the only company in the Oberschwaben / Lake Constance region that trained zoo keepers.

The TV station VOX reported on the Jägerhof in its animal magazine Wildes Kinderzimmer .

Former livestock

Around 100 different animal species with more than 300 animals could be seen on the 2.5 hectare site. Some of the animals included exotic animals such as alpacas , barbary macaques , coatis , porcupines , raccoons and chipmunks . Furthermore, the Hungarian rag sheep , the Breton Ouessant sheep , Cameroon sheep and Valais black-necked goats were also found there . There were also horses, domesticated donkeys and riding ponies .

The numerous small animal species included chinchillas , degus , ferrets , Chinese tree chipmunks , guinea pigs and rabbits .

Birds were peafowl , Strupp chicken, silkie , Appenzeller pointed hood and various other chicken breeds, also cockatiel and Rosella , turkey , lovebirds and quail .

Todays use

The park has been closed since 2018 and the Jägerhof adventure park only offers limited riding facilities. Apart from horses, ponies and donkeys, there are no more animals.
