Ermengol IX. (Urgell)
Ermengol IX. († 1243 ) was a Count of Urgell from the House of Cabrera . He was the older son of Count Ponç von Urgell and María González Girón.
Ermengol was still a child when he succeeded his father, who died in 1243. He died that same year, after which the county of Urgell passed to his brother Álvaro . Due to his underage and short term of office, Ermengol is ignored in contemporary chronicles, only his grave in the church of Santa María in Castellón de Farfaña attests to his existence. The cover plate of his sarcophagus including reclining figure was transferred to The Cloisters branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City in the 1960s .
