Ernst Thälmann badge
The Ernst-Thälmann-Plakette was an award of the Free German Youth of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was donated in 1955 by the FDJ area management in Wismar for exemplary work. The gold-plated badge is 36 mm in size and shows a waving flag with a smooth blue background in the middle of which the portrait of Ernst Thälmann can be seen on a round medallion . The lower edge of the flag shows the red tape OUR ROLE . The reverse, on the other hand, shows a cross-soldered needle with a counter-hook and a stamped award number.
