In 1999 the cash register was established for the employees of Ernst & Young GmbH.

Contribution rates

Since January 1, 2009 the contribution rates have been standardized by the legislator. Since January 1, 2019, the BKK has been charging an income-related additional contribution of 0.94 percent of the contributory income.
