Ernst Keller (politician, September 1900)
Ernst Keller (born September 11, 1900 in Neheim , † July 21, 1963 in Bonn ) was a German politician of the FDP .
Life and work
After graduating from Realgymnasium , Keller, who was a Roman Catholic, attended various commercial schools in Germany and other European countries. In 1918 he took part in the First World War. In 1919 he founded a metal goods factory in Neheim with Ernst Keller GmbH & Co. KG, which still exists today, and took a share in a machine factory in Müschede . In the meantime, however, was also active in Italy (1920/21) and Great Britain (1931/32). In 1939 he was drafted briefly for military service, but soon released from service.
Political party
Keller participated in the founding of the FDP in the Arnsberg district and had been its chairman since 1951. He was also deputy chairman of the FDP district association Westphalia-South and a member of the state board of North Rhine-Westphalia .
MP
From 1952, Keller was a city councilor in Neheim-Hüsten , where he headed the FDP faction. Keller was a member of the German Bundestag from 1957 until his death. From 1961 until his death he was deputy. Chairman of the Foreign Trade Committee of the Bundestag.
