Ernst Schindlbacher

Ernst Schindlbacher (born February 28, 1938 in Diemersdorf , municipality of Mariahof , Styria) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. Schindlbacher was a member of the National Council from 1986 to 1990 and from 1993 to 1994 .

After compulsory schooling, Schindlbacher attended the agricultural college in Töscheldorf (Carinthia) and graduated from the higher federal college for alpine agriculture in 1958. He then worked from 1959 to 1962 as a works consultant at the district chamber for agriculture and forestry in Mürzzuschlag and from 1962 worked as a self-employed farmer. In 1992 he was awarded the professional title of Economics Council.

Schindlbacher was a local councilor in Neumarkt from 1970 to 1980 and also held the office of local group chairman of the Neumarkt ÖVP from 1965 to 1971. In 1980 he was elected chief district chairman of the Styrian farmers' union in the Murau district and from 1986 was the chief district party chairman of the ÖVP Murau. In addition, from 1976 to 1981 he held the function of a chamber councilor of the regional chamber for agriculture and forestry for Styria and between 1981 and 1989 was active as chairman of the district chamber for agriculture and forestry Murau. Schindlbacher represented the ÖVP between December 17, 1986 and November 4, 1990 and from November 2, 1993 to November 6, 1994 in the National Council.

Schindlbacher was also chairman of the Raiffeisenbank Neumarkt - Scheifling and member of the board of the LG Oberes Murtal.
