Replacement building
The term replacement building was used in the Imperial Navy to describe newly built ships whose purpose was to replace an older, decommissioned ship. In contrast, the term augmentation building was used for a new ship that actually increased the total number of naval units.
In the Reichsmarine and the Kriegsmarine , however, this distinction was no longer made.
