Erwin Aikele

Erwin Aikele (* 1904 ; † July 25, 2002 in Böblingen ) was an expert in the early days of electronic data processing. Between 1944 and 1964 he published various specialist books on working with punch cards , some of which were published several times. He also translated Faster, Faster: A generally understandable description of a large electronic computer system and the problems it could solve from Wallace J. Eckart into German.

As an employee of the Deutsche Hollerith-Maschinen Gesellschaft mbH , Aikele founded the company magazine Der Stromkreis and became its editor; the first edition appeared in May 1934. In 1965 it was renamed IBM Report , and in 1984 it celebrated its 50th anniversary.

From 1962 to 1984 he was involved in local politics in Böblingen for the CDU parliamentary group in the local council and its various committees.
