The Erwin Sattler GmbH & Co. KG is a German manufacturer of precision clocks in Gräfelfing near Munich / Germany.

history

On March 4, 1903, the clock master Heinrich Sattler received the imperial patent certificate no. 163850 for the perpetual calendar mechanism . Since this event, watches have been made in the Sattler manufactory. The Erwin Sattler company was founded in 1958; she has been building precise pendulum clocks ever since.

Precision pendulum clocks

These consist of up to 420 parts. It takes up to two years to assemble a watch. The precision and long running time are achieved through the compensation of atmospheric disturbances, through the use of optimally shaped gears and precision ball bearings.

Measurement laboratory

In the company's own, worldwide only measuring laboratory for clock pendulums , these are tested for a wide range of environmental influences: Extreme cold, heat and fluctuations in air pressure . The data obtained make it possible to calculate the optimal compensation for air pressure and temperature fluctuations.

Thanks to this laboratory with an attached research and construction department, Sattler is a leader in the manufacture of mechanically operated precision measuring tools.
