Erwin Steinlechner

Erwin Steinlechner (born September 25, 1928 in Innsbruck ; † September 8, 2021 ) was an Innsbruck district school inspector and from 1968 to 1970 president of FC Wacker Innsbruck , 1971 to 1979 president of the Swarovski Wattens-Wacker syndicate and from 1993 to 1994 president of FC Tyrol Innsbruck .

life and career

Erwin Steinlechner graduated from the teacher training institute in 1948, was appointed director of the secondary school in Müllergasse in 1963 and as district school inspector in 1970. In his role as President of FC Wacker Innsbruck, the club achieved its first cup win in 1970 and its first championship win in 1971. During his presidency as the Swarovski Wattens-Wacker syndicate, there were four more championship titles, four cup wins, two Mitropacup wins and the quarter-finals of the European Cup the national champion 1978. A year later, the club was relegated and Steinlechner was exposed to severe criticism because of his austerity course. He therefore ended the presidency and Rudolf Sams took over his office. Steinlechner worked as a district school inspector until 1991. When the then Wacker President Fritz Schwab fell ill in 1993, Steinlechner stepped in again at short notice. He took over the presidency of the again from 1994 to 1995FC Tirol Innsbruck , when it got into trouble due to the Klaus Mair affair , until a successor could be found in 1995 by Jürgen Bodenseer .

Steinlechner was on the municipal council of Innsbruck from 1977 to 1983 and offered his help for the Wildmoos holiday colony.
