tell me something
“Tell me what” was a series of audio books for children on audio cassettes that were produced by the German publishing house Marshall. The cassettes were each published with an illustrated booklet. Each cassette had a playing time of about 60 minutes.
history
It was published every two weeks from 1985 to 1988. The total of 52 cassettes were available in magazine stores and by subscription and contained five to eight short stories, fairy tales from all over the world and poems per episode, some of which were performed by well-known actors such as Hans Paetsch , Maria Schell and Thomas Fritsch . In addition to the audio cassettes, there was a bound A4 booklet in which the stories told were illustrated with color illustrations and in which one could read the exact wording of each individual story in the correct order. A low, single stroke of a glockenspiel sounded on the cassettes when it was necessary to turn the pages while reading.
The cover of each cassette and the title page of the accompanying booklet showed three image excerpts from the stories contained, the title "Tell me something", the subtitle "The most beautiful children's stories in the world to collect" and the addition "Every two weeks" in the lower right margin. The design of the two media only differed in terms of the consecutive numbering. On the booklet, the number was in a drawn balloon next to the title. The cassette cover listed the respective number above the Tell me what lettering.
