Ore mining at Porta-Damme
The ore mining Porta-Damme AG was founded on 18 March 1953 as a subsidiary of Barbara ore mining AG and the resin-Lahn ore mining AG. Porta-Damme AG operated the Damme iron ore mine until 1967 and the Porta iron ore mine until 1962 . The last managing director was Friedrich Medenbach.
The company was converted into a GmbH after 1963 and dissolved in 1967 after the Damme iron ore mine was closed; today's legal successor is Barbara Rohstoffbetriebe GmbH, based in Langenfeld .
