The territorial prelate July ( lat. : Territorialis Praelatura Iuliensis ) is in the south of Peru located Roman Catholic territorial prelate based in July .

history

The July Territorial Prelature was established on August 3, 1957 from cession of territory by the Diocese of Puno and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Arequipa as a suffragan .

On April 3, 2019, the July Territorial Prelature ceded the parts of its territory north of Lake Titicaca to establish the Santiago Apóstol de Huancané Territorial Prelature .

The July Territorial Prelature includes the provinces of Chucuito , El Collao and Yunguyo of the Puno region and the districts of Acora , Chucuito , Pichacani and Platería of the Puno .
