The Roman Catholic Diocese of Puno ( lat. : Dioecesis Puniensis ) is in the south of Peru located Roman Catholic diocese based in Puno .

history

The diocese of Puno was established on October 7, 1861 from cessions of territory by the diocese of Cuzco . In its history, the diocese gave up parts of its territory several times to establish new dioceses. The diocese of Puno is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Arequipa as a suffragan .
