The Dodge Wayfarer was a passenger car manufactured by Dodge in Detroit , which was introduced as a successor to the Dodge Deluxe in February 1949.

The car had - like its sister models Meadowbrook , and Coronet - a side-controlled six-cylinder in-line engine with 3769 cm³, the 103 bhp (76 kW) at 3600 / min. performed. The wheelbase of the chassis was 2921 mm. A 2-door sedan, a 2-door coupé and a 2-door roadster (= convertible) were supplied as bodies. All bodies were kept in the new, fashionable pontoon shape. With a few changes, especially to the radiator grille, the models were manufactured until 1952. The roadster was discontinued in the 1952 model year.

When the Dodge models for the 1953 model year were presented in November 1952, the Wayfarer had merged into the Meadowbrook series. In four years, 217,643 pieces were made.
