The Dodge 126 was a passenger car from the Dodge Brothers company in Detroit , which was presented as a further development of the 116 series in July 1925 as the 1926 model.
Like its predecessors, the car had a side-controlled 4-cylinder in-line engine with 3479 cm³, which delivered an output of 35 bhp (25.7 kW ). The rear wheels were driven via a multi-disc dry clutch and a three-speed gearbox with center shift. The rear wheels were braked mechanically. The wheelbase of the chassis was 2946 mm.
Again, several equipment variants were offered: The standard was available as a 2-door roadster, 4-door touring car, 4-door sedan, 2-door coupe with 2 or 4 seats and 4-door business sedan. The same models were available as a special with better equipment. The Deluxe / Sport variant was new, offering a 2-door sports roadster, a 4-door sedan and a 4-door touring car. The Custom was manufactured as a 4-door landaulet and a 5-door station wagon.
In the 1927 model year (i.e. from July 1926) the series continued to be built unchanged. From January 1927, however, it was called Dodge 124 . In the Deluxe / Sport version, a convertible was added, the Custom was only available as a Club Coupé (4 seats).
When the series was replaced by the Fast Four in July 1927 , a total of 394,870 units had been produced.
