A100 Custom Sportsman

The Dodge A-Series (or Forward Control ) was a line of vans and pickups that Chrysler manufactured under the brand names Dodge and Fargo from 1964 to 1970. Its competitors were the Ford Econoline and the Chevy Van , its model being the first-generation VW bus . The driver's cab and engine were located above the front axle. The A100 had a wheelbase of 2286 mm. From 1967 to 1970 the A108 with a wheelbase of 2743 mm was also offered. The A108 was often converted into camper vans.

1967 was also the year in which some innovations, among other things because of safety, were introduced. Crash pad for the front passenger, removal of the ignition key from the driver's knee area, dual master brake cylinders, reversing lights, cladding on the driver and front passenger doors, ...

A substantially tuned A100 pickup, which was equipped with a Chrysler Hemi engine, was the Little Red Wagon - driven by Bill "Maverick" Golden - on the racetracks from the 1960s to the year 2000.

Another significantly modified A100 pickup, designed by Harry Bentley Bradley , was the basis for the Deora show car , one of the 16 original Hot Wheels model cars from 1968.

In the film Blood Court in Texas , the five teenagers drive in an A100 van with an extended second row of seats. In the movie Cars , the supporting role of Dusty Rust-Eze is cast with a heavily rusted A100.
