The Dodge 880 was a full-size class model manufactured by the US automobile manufacturer Dodge from 1962 to 1964 .
After Dodge (like its sister brand Plymouth ) had downsized its large full-size models for the 1962 model year , contrary to all market trends, sales were disappointing (it fell from 156,000 units in 1961 to 148,400 in the following year). As a result, Dodge introduced the Custom 880 as a new, large top model. It was a Chrysler of the current year with an independent front section borrowed from the Dodge models of the previous year.
From January 1962, two- and four-door sedans, two station wagons, a hardtop coupé and a convertible were offered. All 880 had a V8 engine and a manual or automatic three-speed gearbox.
In the model years 1963 to 1965 the series was continued, from 1963 as a poorly equipped 880 and as a Custom 880. In autumn 1965 it was replaced by the Dodge Monaco .
