The Dodge Series D8 was a passenger car from the Dodge company in Detroit , which was presented as a successor to the Dodge D5 series in October 1937 as the 1938 model.

Like its predecessors, the car had a side-controlled six-cylinder in-line engine with 3569 cc, the 87 bhp (64 kW) at 3600 rpm. performed. This vehicle also had a single-disc dry clutch, three-speed gearbox and rear-wheel drive. A semi-automatic system (clutch automatically actuated by vacuum) was available on request.

The D8 series was also available with two wheelbases: most of the bodies were on the chassis with a 2921 mm wheelbase, the seven-seat touring sedan and the five-seat Pullman sedan had a 3353 mm wheelbase. The bodywork had been slightly redesigned: the radiator grille had chrome strips along the middle bar and the entire radiator grille was back upright. As with the predecessor, a two- or four-door sedan, each in "normal version" (with hatchback but without trunk) and in "touring version" (with hatchback and trunk attached to the rear) were offered as bodies. There were also two different two-door coupés (Business and R / S), as well as a two-door and a four-door convertible on the short chassis. The R / S coupe and two-door convertible were available with either two or four seats. In addition to the bodies described above, the long chassis was also delivered with all mechanical components, but without superstructures, so that the customer could outsource it to bodywork companies who provided it with special superstructures.

In October 1938, the D8 series was replaced by the Luxury Liner model.
