The Dodge Omni 024 and the identical Plymouth Horizon TC3 were sports coupés based on the Dodge Omni . From 1981 the models were only called Dodge 024 and Plymouth TC3 .

In the autumn of 1978, the coupé variants of the Dodge Omni and Plymouth Horizon appeared with the technology of the sedans, but with a completely independent body line with a sloping nose, hatchback and a spoiler integrated into the tailgate. Its wheelbase was shortened from 252 to 245.6 cm, but the external length was 439 cm larger by 20 cm.

The coupés, like the sedans, were initially only available with the 1.7 liter from Volkswagen and only in one equipment version. However, this could be upgraded with a sports package.

In the 1980 model year, the Dodge Omni 024 DeTomaso appeared , for which there was no Plymouth parallel model. Despite the name, which evokes sporty associations, it was a pure optics package, and the DeTomaso driver also had to be content with 66 hp. At Plymouth there was instead a new Turismo package, which included alloy wheels, matt black paint and a sporty interior.

In 1981 the new 2.2-liter with 85 hp was standard in the DeTomaso, which was also available for an additional charge in all other Dodge and Plymouth versions of the coupé. Like the sedans, the 1981/82 coupés were also offered in a Miser version with spartan equipment and a longer rear axle ratio.

From model year 1983 the models were slightly modified as Dodge Charger and Plymouth Turismo .

By then, the Dodge Omni 024 had produced a total of around 170,000 copies (including 1952 in DeTomaso version and 14,400 Charger) and a little over 200,000 of the Plymouth Horizon TC3 (including around 8000 Turismo).
