The Dodge Series D5 was a passenger car from the Dodge company in Detroit , which was introduced as a successor to the Dodge Beauty Winner model in October 1936 as the 1937 model.

Like its predecessors, the car had a side-controlled six-cylinder in-line engine with 3569 cc, which made 87 bhp (64 kW) at 3600 rpm. This vehicle also had a single-disc dry clutch, three-speed gearbox and rear-wheel drive. A semi-automatic system (clutch automatically actuated by vacuum) was available on request.

The D5 series was also available with two wheelbases: most bodies were on the chassis with a 2921 mm wheelbase, the seven-seat sedan, the five-seat Pullman sedan and the five-seat Victoria convertible had 3353 mm wheelbase. The bodies had been slightly redesigned: the radiator grille had a central bar and the short chassis had a wheelbase that was 25 mm shorter. A two- or four-door sedan, each in "normal version" (with hatchback, but without trunk) and in "touring version" (with hatchback and trunk attached to the rear) were offered as superstructures. There were also two different two-door coupés (Business and R / S), as well as a two-door and a four-door convertible on the short chassis. The R / S Coupe and the two-door convertible were available with either three or six seats. In addition to the bodies described above, the long chassis was also delivered with all mechanical components, but without superstructures, so that the customer could outsource it to bodywork companies who provided it with special superstructures.

The D5 series was replaced by the D8 series as early as October 1937 .
