The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is a sports coupe from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles that has been built and marketed since the end of 2014. The vehicle is the top model of the Dodge Challenger, which has been in production since 2008 . It belongs to the muscle cars category and is intended to regenerate the character of the first Dodge Challenger. The SRT Hellcat is currently the fastest muscle car. The base price is the equivalent of around € 60,000.

Technology and equipment

The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is equipped with a V8 - Hemi engine with supercharging . The engine has 6166 cm³ displacement , develops 527 kW (707 SAE-PS or 717 DIN-PS ) and 880 Nm at 4000 / min. The vehicle has a front engine and rear wheel drive. The standard gearbox is a six-speed manual gearbox; an eight-speed automatic (8HP90) from ZF is available as an option . From July 2017, Dodge expanded the range of the Challenger SRT Hellcat to include a "widebody" body version with wider fender cheeks from the Challenger Demon . For the quarter mile sprint , the Challenger widebody needs 0.3 seconds less than the normal variant. The top speed is Dodge with 314 km / h.

The Demon was discontinued for the 2019 model year. In addition, the Hellcat now has 535 kW (717 SAE-PS or 728 DIN-PS). In addition, the Hellcat Redeye is a new top version on the market.
