Like its predecessors, the car had a side-controlled six-cylinder in-line engine with 3569 cc, which made 87 bhp (64 kW) at 3600 rpm. This vehicle also had a single-disc dry clutch, three-speed gearbox and rear-wheel drive. A semi-automatic system (clutch automatically actuated by vacuum) was available on request.

There were two equipment variants, the more simply equipped Special and the better equipped Deluxe . Both variants were available on the short chassis with a 2972 mm wheelbase. The Deluxe was also available in a version with a long chassis (3404 mm wheelbase). The Special was only delivered as a 2- or 4-door sedan or as a 2-door business coupé with 2 seats. There were also three other coupé variants with 2, 4 or 5 seats of the Deluxe. As with its predecessor, the “long” deluxe came with a 7-seat limousine and a 5-seat Pullman limousine.

These bodies were completely redesigned: the main headlights were now integrated into the front fenders. These fenders were also much more massive, while the hatchback was longer and more elegant. The front with the wide radiator grille with horizontal chrome bars was inclined slightly forward, which gave the car a "faster" look ("forward design").

The short chassis had grown by 2.5 ″ to 3035 mm wheelbase, the long by 5.5 ″ to 3543 mm wheelbase. The chrome grille had been pulled up further. In addition to the model range of the previous year, the Deluxe also included a 2-door convertible with 5 seats on a coupé basis.

In September 1940 the name Luxury Liner was dropped. The successors were called Deluxe and Custom .
