Dodge rampage (yoc 1983)

The Dodge Rampage was a small pickup based on passenger cars offered by the US automobile manufacturer Dodge from 1981 to 1984 .

For the 1982 model year, Dodge launched this small pick-up on the extended platform of the Dodge Omni 024 . The term Rampage (which as much as riots means) should the robust large pick-up and SUV recall models of the brand, traditionally under the name Dodge Ram are marketed.

The Rampage was powered by a 2.2-liter in-line four-cylinder with 97 hp, which helped the approximately 1090 kg vehicle, which could carry 520 kg payload, to achieve decent performance. The body of the Rampage came from the Dodge Omni 024 up to the B-pillar or from its successor, the Dodge Charger, from model year 1983 .

The only competitor of the Rampage that was comparable in size was the VW Rabbit in the pick-up version Sportruck, which was similar to the VW Caddy of the first generation, as well as the sister model Plymouth Scamp , which was only offered in model year 1983 .

In 1983 the Rampage received a five-speed gearbox, previously a four-speed unit was standard. Production was discontinued after the 1984 model year.
