The car had - like its sister models Wayfarer and Coronet - a side-controlled six-cylinder in-line engine with 3769 cm³, the 76 kW (103 bhp) at 3600 / min. performed. The wheelbase of the chassis was 3137 mm. There was only one 4-door sedan. It was kept in the new, fashionable pontoon shape. With a few changes, especially to the radiator grille, the model was produced until 1952.

In November 1952 the new models for the year 1953 were presented. The sister model Wayfarer had been dropped; instead, the 2-door sedan was built as Meadowbrook. There was also the simpler Special version of both limousines , which was intended as a cheaper model for representatives. Also new was a 3-door station wagon called Suburban . The bodies had been redesigned in order to emphasize the pontoon shape (without indicated rear fenders). Instead of the split, V-shaped windshield, there were now curved, one-piece specimens. The rear window of the sedans was designed as a panoramic window . In addition to the six-cylinder, a V8 engine with hemispherical combustion chambers ( Chrysler Hemi engine ) was also offered. It had a capacity of 3949 cm 3 and developed 103 kW (140 bhp) at 4400 rpm.
In the 1954 model year, a more powerful six-cylinder engine was used. With the same displacement, it now developed 81 kW (110 bhp). At the same time, the 2-door sedans, station wagons and special models were no longer available. In addition to the 4-door sedan, a 2-door club coupe was offered at the Meadowbrook last year.
In the 1955 model year, the Meadowbrook was no longer offered. The Coronet had taken the place of the cheapest Dodge. In six years around 500,000 Meadowbrook had been created.
