The Dodge C-Series was a line of pickups offered by Chrysler's Dodge division from 1954 to 1960. It replaced the B series and was in turn replaced by the D series in 1961.

The C series was redesigned and, like its predecessor, was not based on the chassis of the pre-war truck. The cabs had large windows and in 1955 Dodge introduced panoramic windows . The new PowerFlite automatic with two speed levels was the big novelty for pickups this year.

In 1957, Dodge named the pickups powered by Chrysler Hemi engines Power Giant , introduced power steering , brake boosters and automatic transmissions with 3 speeds. The electrical system was switched to 12 volts.

The flatbed with flat sides (which was therefore also wider), called Sweptline , came in 1959. The usual type designation for pickups, which Ford and GM also used at the time, was also adopted. The 0.5-ton truck was now called the D100. Vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of 4,000 kg or more were fitted with twin tires. ( Utiline version, now known as "Dualie").

Engines:

  • 1957–1960: Chrysler inline six-cylinder, side-controlled, 120 bhp (90 kW)
  • -1969: Chrysler V8, 3,949 cm³, FirePower "Red Ram", 133 bhp (99 kW)
  • -1959: Chrysler V8, 5,424 cm³, FirePower, 172 bhp (128 kW)
  • 1957–1959: Chrysler V8, 5,161 cm³, FirePower "Red Ram", 204 bhp (152 kW)
  • 1959-: Chrysler V8, 5,211 cm³ A-Type, 200 bhp (149 kW)

Since the C-Series was still based on the old cab design, the name was also used for the medium and heavy trucks up to model year 1975 (long after most light trucks had been given the new name D-Series).
