Previous model Dodge DK series

The Dodge DO series was a passenger car from Dodge in Detroit , which was presented as the successor to the DK series in January 1933.

The car had a side-controlled 8-cylinder in-line engine with 4623 cm³, which delivered an output of 100 bhp (74 kW) at 3400 rpm. (The weaker engine from the previous year was omitted). The rear wheels were driven via a single-disc dry clutch operated automatically by vacuum and a three-speed gearbox with center shift (semi-automatic). The wheelbase of the chassis was 3,099 mm. A 4-door sedan, two 2-door coupés with 2 or 4 seats, a 2-door Victoria coupé with 5 seats and a 2-door and a 4-door convertible were offered as bodies. In addition, the DO was also available as a chassis with all mechanical components for customers who wanted to commission a body shop themselves.

In November 1933, the DO was discontinued without a successor. Only after the Second World War did Dodge offer eight-cylinder cars again.
