The JC is a sports utility vehicle of the US brand Dodge and has been manufactured in Japan by Mitsubishi Motors Corporation for the local market since 2007 . The official sister model is the Dodge Journey developed in Mexico . JC is the first and so far only Dodge produced in Japan.

With its introduction in July 2007, the new SUV was established in the middle class to stand up to the Toyota crossovers.

The interior of the JC is matched to one another in a two-color pattern and is already equipped as standard with two-zone automatic air conditioning, navigation device, radio with CD player and a reversing camera. Both conventional upholstery designs and leather upholstery are available.

In terms of safety, the JC, like all modern vehicles, has ABS and SRS airbags (12 pieces). It is also equipped with anti-slip control and driving dynamics control. The JC is only produced with permanent all-wheel drive, which made the development of the ABS system difficult. This could have serious consequences, especially on water and ice. Mitsubishi therefore had to let the ABS in the individual wheel suspensions work independently of one another. But then again there was the problem that the tires lock up. In order to prevent this danger, an intelligent monitoring and control module was finally used, which monitors the suspension, tire pressure, heat generation, water level, oil level and speed and, in the event of danger, switches on the appropriate switches or even automatically switches off the engine.

The Dodge JC SXT is powered by a 2.7-liter V6 petrol engine with an output of 136 kW (185 hp). The JC is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

In 2008 Dodge also presented the JC at North American exhibitions, paving the way for the Journey, which was well received .

In the People's Republic of China , the JC has been marketed as the Dodge JCUV via individual Mitsubishi dealers since 2008 , where it faces its sister model Journey as a direct and cheaper competitor. The production as well as the distribution of the JC in Japan ended in the course of 2011. The successor was the Dodge Nitro . The Chinese production of the JCUV is to be continued.
