José María Ortega Trinidad (born December 30, 1950 in Naván , Oyón province ) is a Peruvian clergyman and emeritus prelate from July .

Life

José María Ortega Trinidad was ordained a priest on June 25, 1978 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Prelate of July on April 22, 2006. The Archbishop of Lima , Juan Luis Cardinal Cipriani Thorne , gave him episcopal ordination on December 4th of the same year; Co -consecrators were Archbishop Rino Passigato , Apostolic Nuncio in Peru, and Ricardo García García , Prelate of Yauyos .

José María Ortega Trinidad spoke out against the Maryknoll Fathers James Madden, Michael Briggs, Robert Hoffmann and Edmund Cookson remaining in the prelature.

On November 15, 2018, Pope Francis accepted his early resignation.
