Ciro Quispe López

Ciro Quispe López (born October 20, 1973 in Cusco , Peru ) is a Peruvian clergyman, biblical scholar and Roman Catholic prelate from July .

Life

Ciro Quispe López studied philosophy at the Seminary of San Antonio Abad of the Archdiocese of Cusco and theology in Rome. On November 30, 2001, he received the sacrament of ordination . After three years in pastoral care , he returned to Rome for further biblical studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University and at the Pontifical Biblical Institute , supplemented by studying Biblical Archeology at the Biblicum Franciscanum in Jerusalem . In 2011 he received his doctorate from the Pontificia Università Gregoriana with an exegetical dissertation. He was then Professor of Biblical Studies at the Facultad de Teología Pontificia y Civil in Lima and, from 2016, director of studies and lecturer at the San Antonio Abad Seminary in Cusco.

On November 15, 2018, Pope Francis appointed him Prelate of July. The Apostolic Nuncio in Peru, Archbishop Nicola Girasoli , donated him episcopal ordination on December 15 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Trujillo , Héctor Miguel Cabrejos Vidarte OFM , and the Archbishop of Cuzco , Richard Daniel Alarcón Urrutia .
