Nicola Girasoli (born July 21, 1957 in Ruvo di Puglia , Province of Bari , Italy ) is a Roman Catholic Archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

Nicola Girasoli received on June 15 in 1980 by Pope John Paul II. The Sacrament of Holy Orders . He was incardinated on September 30, 1986 in the clergy of the diocese of Molfetta-Ruvo-Giovinazzo-Terlizzi , which was established on the same date .

On January 24, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Egnazia Appula and ordered him to Apostolic Nuncio in Malawi and Zambia . He was ordained bishop by Cardinal Secretary of State Angelo Sodano on March 11 of the same year; Co- consecrators were the secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Archbishop of Curia Robert Sarah , and the Bishop of Molfetta-Ruvo-Giovinazzo-Terlizzi, Luigi Martella . On October 29, 2011, Nicola Girasoli became Apostolic Nuncio in Antigua and Barbuda , Dominica , Jamaica , Grenada , Guyana , Suriname , St. Lucia , St. Kitts and Nevis , the Bahamas, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Apostolic Delegate for the Antilles . Benedict XVI. appointed him on December 21 of the same year as Apostolic Nuncio in Trinidad and Tobago and on Barbados .

Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Nuncio in Peru on June 16, 2017.
