Escape-MCP is a computer game from 1983 that was developed for the ZX Spectrum , VIC-20 and Commodore 64 systems. The game is inspired by the 1982 science fiction film Tron , but does not contain any plot elements from the same.
action
In this Maze game, the player controls a human who has been deatomized from real life by a malicious microprocessor and rematerialized in a computer. The playing figure must traverse nine labyrinths undamaged. To do this, a key and a program disk must be collected in each labyrinth . The so-called MCP (Master Control Program) tries to thwart this mission. If the character comes into contact with the MCP, it loses one of its three lives. The difficulty lies in the fact that the game character can only move on the specified labyrinth paths, while the MCP always moves unhindered towards the current position of the player.
particularities
Despite the fact that no direct plot elements from the science fiction film Tron appear in this game, it does seem to take place in the same fictional universe . This is shown on the one hand by the history of the game, which is very similar to Tron (humans are rematerialized in computers). On the other hand, the MCP appears in this game, which is the main antagonist in Tron .
