Eskaton is a French Zeuhl band that was founded in 1973 under the name Eskaton Kommandkestra.

Band history

In the year after it was founded, the line-up was completed by Paule Kleynnaert, Amara Tahir, Eric Guillaume and André Bernardi. The band now shortened their name to Eskaton. Their first single Musique post-atomique was released in 1979, their debut album 4 Visions was recorded in the same year. Eskaton were stylistically clearly in the Magma tradition , but sang in French.

Several changes followed - Gilles Rozenberg and Patrick Lemercier ( Malicorne ) replaced Alain Blésing, Eric Guillaume and Xavier de Raymond. The band released two more albums in the early 1980s, in which they gradually moved away from the original Zeuhl. Without Gilles Rozenberg, Eskaton recorded the fourth album I Care , which was never released as a whole. After that, the band split, only to get back together in 2013.
